To maximize your comfort and safety, Dr. Faulkner uses general anesthesia during your breast lift in Rockville. Once anesthesia is administered, Dr. Faulkner will make precise incisions based on the desired outcome. The three incision patterns include:
- Around the areola
- Around the areola and vertically down to the breast crease
- Around the areola, vertically down, and horizontally along the breast crease
After making the necessary incisions, Dr. Faulkner will:
- Lift and reshape the breast tissue to improve firmness and contour.
- Reposition the nipple and areola to a higher, more natural placement.
- Reduce the size of enlarged areolas, if necessary.
- Remove excess skin for a smoother, more lifted appearance.
To support the newly shaped breasts, Dr. Faulkner places internal sutures within the breast tissue. While incision lines are permanent, they typically fade significantly over time.
