The Perfect Derma™ Peel

The Perfect Derma™ Peel is a comprehensive solution for a range of different skin problems for all types of patients regardless of their skin type or ethnicity. It is simple to apply, fast-acting, relatively pain free and entails only 2-3 days of peeling. This treatment is ideal for patients who are looking to reverse the signs of aging, address acne, acne scarring or enlarged pores, and achieve healthy, radiant skin in a hurry. The entire process takes around 30 minutes and the application of the peel is extremely straightforward, meaning you can relax while Dr. Brent Faulkner and our team at Faulkner Plastic Surgery and Aesthetics carry out your treatment.

What to Expect During and Just After Your Appointment

You may experience a slight stinging or tingling sensation during application which will subside after 30-60 seconds. Numbing takes place once the first pass is applied and we will provide you will a fan to minimize any discomfort. Immediately after the peel has been applied the skin will either appear read, like a sunburn, or darker. Patients generally experience a sloughing of thin sheets of epidermis that begins around Day 3 and is generally completed by Day 6 or Day 7. Patients are advised to avoid heavy exercise that may contribute to excessive sweating during the peeling process. Make-up can be worn as early as Day 2, but you may not want to cover up that beautiful new skin. Your skin will be sensitive post-peel until your PH level is replenished. Sun exposure should be limited if not avoided before and during the peel process to avoid uneven exposure.

As long as the skin is maintained with proper skin care the improved results will last. We recommend two to three treatments per year to sustain results and for regular maintenance and rejuvenation. The Perfect Derma may be applied every 4 weeks (initially). Eventually, it is recommended you space your peels to once every 3-6 months.
